BOOKING Roz, the caricature artist
Booking Roz is simple and easy. Please read below for incentives, more information, party tips, suggestions, and how to contact Roz and let her know about your event(s)!
ABOUT PARTY CARICATURES
You can have "Roz" perform as caricature artist party sketch entertainment for your next big event NATIONWIDE and WORLDWIDE! Caricatures really "draw" a crowd! Caricature artists are a main attraction at all events. People of all ages love to be drawn. They also love to see the caricatures-in-progress of their friends, family, co-workers, and even strangers! As soon as the word gets around that there is a caricature artist afoot, the caricature line is long and steady for the duration of the event. It is a great take home party favor. Your guests will always remember the good time they had at your party!
I draw approximately 18-20 people per hour in black and white with pen and ink. I draw on both 8 1/2 by 11 and 11 by 17 index paper for black and white. For color, I draw approximately 12-15 people an hour. I work in the medium of watercolor. For watercolor, the paper size is 8 1/2 by 11. I use high quality watercolor supplies and archival Bristol or watercolor paper. Plastic bags are available to protect each piece. Please let me know if you have special requests.
Plastic Bags are available for each piece. I provide all of the equipment except for two chairs, which I would hope would b accessible to you. I also need a 5 foot x 5 foot space near an electrical outlet. I prefer a place indoors to protect myself and the delicate paper and supplies from the elements. I also get cold easily. I cannot draw while shivering! It would be very helpful to provide close, accessible parking to your location to make it easier for me to carry my equipment.
Depending on location, there is usually a 2 hour minimum. Travel fees may apply.
Please call or email for rates and availability.
The schedule fills fast so book soon!

TIPS FOR PARTY PLANNERS
The following suggestions will help you make sure things go smoothly when you hire a caricature artist. You'll get more for your money and your guests will have more fun. Most of these suggestions also apply to other entertainers who you may hire, including face painters, balloon twisters, and clowns.
Introductions: We'd love to meet you! Please introduce yourself when we arrive. If you want your caricature drawn, the best time to get it done is at the beginning of the artist's shift. This will give you a few minutes to sit down and relax as well as start the line!
Location: Make sure ahead of time that the caricaturist knows exactly where the event is located. Provide an address of the location, clear directions in writing, and a map if possible (i.e., yahoo maps). Have a cell phone/pager number available so that the artist can call if they get lost en route.
Time: If you are concerned about the artist starting on time, please ask her to arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled start time.
Door: Please make sure someone is on hand to answer the door when the caricaturist arrives. This assures the artist that they've found the right place.
Timing: Avoid scheduling a caricaturist's drawing time during dinner, swimming, or other situations that capture people's attention such as speeches or raffle drawings.
Parking: Caricaturist have lots of supplies. They need to have close, safe, and accessible parking. Due to the heavy equipment, we try to avoid stairs as much as possible. We would need to know where the parking is located.
Seating: At least two to three chairs should be on site.
Lighting: Caricaturists require lots of good lighting. Artists bring their own lights, but these usually require that the artist is located in an area where there is access to an electrical outlet.
Cover: For outdoor events, caricaturists need to be covered to protect them from the elements. Their supplies, paper, and even eyes are sensitive equipment.
Multiple Caricaturists: Please put all of the caricaturists in one area to prevent long lines for your guests.
Multiple Hours: If the event is set to last more than 4 hours or there are more than 100 people attending, please consider hiring more than 2 or more caricature artists. This will allow everyone in attendance to be drawn, if they so choose, including adults. Remember, caricatures are not just for kids! This also keeps the artists fresh. If possible, water or soda would be appreciated. Guests will be well aware of an artist's break time, if necessary, and breaks are only taken infrequently and briefly. Eating arrangements may be necessary if the hours are extensive, which will be arranged between you and the artist. If multiple artists are present, we always take breaks separately to ensure that the line is still moving.
Line Monitor: Monitoring the line is the most difficult part of a caricaturist's job. We like to make sure that everyone who wants to get drawn has the opportunity to sit. We always have to turn people away at the end of the engagement, so we try to end the line 30 minutes before we have to leave. We would love having a volunteer available to help with the line, if they can be spared. If not, we would appreciate your presence at the end of the shift to ensure guests that the artist is indeed done and offer condolences. The bigger the event, the more help is needed.
Security: In the event that need arises, we would like to ensure that security is on site if your event is public or of a large capacity.
Overtime: If you would like the caricaturist to stay longer because of a long line, please ask 30 minutes before the end of the engagement. Please make payment arrangements at that time.
Paycheck: Please have the artist's check or cash (Cash Preferred) by the time the artist arrives. Near the end of the party, entertainers have encountered hosts who are too busy socializing, cleaning, dictating orders, or sometimes, the host has left and is not to be found! Please have this check in an envelope with the artist's name on it.
Although cash is preferred, please make checks out to "J. Rozwood."
